Biography

I was born in Lancaster, CA and subsequently grew up in near-by Palmdale on the East Side. I attended Wildflower Elementary School and Mesa Intermediate School until my family and I moved to the West Side to attend Highland for high school.

Up until this time, I never made school one of my main priorities. I always preferred going outside to skateboard or spend countless hours drawing in my room. While I didn't focus on school, I nevertheless received satisfactory grades.

During high school, I became a lot more focused and really strived to excel in my classes. Although my freshman year I received only a 3.0 GPA overall, I consistently improved over the years and ended my senior year with straight A's in five AP classes and received the title of valedictorian with a GPA of 4.7.

Aside from my scholastic accomplishments, I also continued to excel in the things that I loved: skateboarding and art. Up until the age of 17, I was sponsored by Pharmacy Skate Shop to skateboard for their B Team. I also received many award for my art and eventually received a scholarship/grant my senior year to pursue art.

I'm now a student at Brigham Young University and my life has gone around many corners. Originally, I wanted to utilize my artistic skills and go into graphic design or architectural studies. Believing that the job market would not be fair for these fields, I decided to follow electrical engineering and utilize my quantitative abilities in that field. After having changed my mind many times, I'm now pursuing a double degree in business with an emphasis in finance (specifically, investments) and mathematics. I'm also pursuing a minor in actuarial science.

I really enjoy learning about the stock market and spend many hours doing my own research on stocks and other asset classes. Actually, I first started being interested in the stock market since I was 12 when I saw my dad researching his own stocks on our home computer. I now do my own trading and am the president and founder of BYU Sales & Trading, a club that I made in order to meet the intersts of those who have the same interests as me.

My overall plans for the future consist of me working as a portfolio manager for a top asset management firm or a prop trader for either an investment bank or prop shop. I enjoy the energy industry, foreign exchange, emerging markets, and technology.
